Location Profile: The Thin Place (Behind the Greggs)
- Sensory Atmosphere The Look: To most people, it’s just a brick wall covered in graffiti and bird droppings. To Alistair, it looks like a shimmering tear in a curtain. Beyond the tear, you can see the towering, white trees of the “Old World” glowing in the dark.
The Sound: The muffled sound of high-street traffic competing with the distant, haunting song of birds that have been extinct for ten thousand years.
-
Geographical Utility The “Zero-Tax” Zone: Because this spot is a natural leak and not a Syndicate-controlled node, it provides Free Magic. If Sprocket needs to charge a high-density battery without a “Sovereign Bill” being generated, this is where he plugs in.
-
Narrative Significance The The Department of Magical Crimes (The Department of Magical Crimes (DMC)) “Safe-Drop”: The team uses the hollowed-out trunk of one of the “Old World” trees (accessible through the alley) as a dead-drop for documents. It’s the most secure filing cabinet in the UK because you have to be partially out of sync with time to even see it.
